These pills act as a barrier for the sperms inside body and restrict them to fuse into the eggs. Women who want birth control can use these contraceptive pills without any tension. There are very few side effects which they can handle easily. Vaginal ring is also used by some women. The ring is a special device which releases the drugs in a controlled amount in to the vagina. After 3-4 weeks this ring releases some hormones like progesterone hormones and oestrogen hormones. The action of these hormones as a barrier prevents sperms from fertilization. Besides, women can also use quinacrine which is a medicine that can be used to prevent the fertilization permanently.

Surgical methods are also followed by the some women. Those women who want to minimize the chances of fertilization also use this surgical method. In this method, a tube which moves the eggs to the uterus is blocked or sealed by surgery. This method is not very cheap so most of the people do not like it.
